报告摘要: In this talk, we rigorously reinvestigate the dynamics of a stage-structured predator-prey model with cannibalism in the predator. There are two stages, juvenile and mature, in the redator. We obtain the global stability of the model and illustrate the effects of cannibalism on the dynamics. It is found that the positive equilibrium can undergo stability switch. We also analyze theoretically Hopf bifurcation.
报告人简介: 陈玉明,教授,博士生导师。2000 年获得加拿大约克大学理学博士学位,2000 年 9 月至 2001 年 6 月在加拿大阿尔伯塔大学从事博士后研究,2001 年 7 月 至今任教于加拿大罗瑞尔大学。主要研究兴趣为动力系统和泛函微分方程理论及其在生物数学和神经网络中的应用,已在包括SIAM Journal on Mathematical Analysis、Nonlinearity、Journal of Differential Equations、Physica D、Proceedings of the American Mathematical Society、Mathematical Biosciences、Neural Networks等国际著名刊物发表论文 100 余篇,研究成果被同行广泛引用,曾获安大略省科技与创新部早期研究者奖。主持4 项加拿大国家自然科学与工程理事会科研基金项目,参与3项中国国家自然科学基金面上项目。
报告题目2:A periodic disease transmission model with asymptomatic carriage and latency periods

报告摘要: In this talk, the global dynamics of a periodic disease transmission model with two delays in incubation and asymptomatic carriage periods is investigated. We first derive the model system with a general nonlinear incidence rate function by stage-structure. Then, we identify the basic reproduction ratio R_0 for the model and present numerical algorithm to calculate it. We obtain the global attractively of the disease-free state when R_0<1 and discuss the disease persistence when R_0>1. We also explore the coexistence of endemic state in the nonautonomous system and prove the uniqueness with constants coefficients. Numerical simulations are provided to present a case study regarding the meningococcal meningitis disease transmission and discuss the influence of carriers on R_0.
报告人简介: 袁沅,教授,博士生导师,2002年于加拿大西安大略大学(University of Western Ontario)获得博士学位。2002年荣获NSERC(加拿大国家自然科学基金)资助,2002年9月起受聘于加拿大纽芬兰纪念大学(Memorial University of Newfoundland)至今,现为该校数学与统计系终身正教授和博士生导师。袁教授主要研究方向包括非线性动力系统的稳定性及分支分析、时滞微分方程及其在神经网络和生物数学等的应用、微分方程的符号及数值计算方法。现已在SIAM Journal of Applied Mathematics, Journal of Mathematical Biology, Journal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, Journal of Differential Equations, Nonlinear Analysis: Real World Applications, SIAM Journal on Applied Dynamical Systems等主要应用数学及生物数学杂志发表论文近六十篇,研究成果深受同行好评及引用,研究一直受到加拿大NSERC的资助。
