报告摘要：In this talk, I will talk about the brief history of CERN as a collaborative science organization and its very contribution to our probe of the building blocks of matter and the fundamental interactions at the smallest scale as well as our understanding of the nature of space and time at the largest scale.

报告人简介：Professor Laurent Baulieu is a prominent physicist currently serving as a CNRS Research Director at the University of Paris, specifically within the Theoretical Physics Department. His research focuses on quantum field theory, supersymmetry, and string theory. Baulieu has made significant contributions to the understanding of gauge theories and topological quantum field theories. He together with Dirac Medal recipient John Iliopoulos has co-authored the book "From Classical to Quantum Fields," by University of Oxford Press, which is well-regarded in the field of theoretical physics. He is also associated with CERN, where he continues to collaborate on advanced theoretical research. He has been an organizer of many summer schools and workshops on various aspects of Quantum Field Theory, especially in les Houches and in the Cargese Institute in Corsica. He is also a chair at United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
