报告摘要：In this talk, we study two epidemic models. One is a model with relapse and nonlinear incidence, for which a threshold dynamics is established. The other is a stage-structured epidemic model. For this model, we show that backward bifurcation can occur and hence another mechanism on the occurrence of backward bifurcation is provided.
报告题目2：Spatial spreading of a logistic SI epidemic model with degenerate diffusion and double free boundaries

报告摘要：This talk concerns with a logistic SI epidemic model with degenerate diffusion and double free boundaries to describe the spatial spreading of disease, which is modified from the rabies model of Murray. The existence, uniqueness and estimates of the global solution are discussed firstly. Then we prove a spreading-vanishing dichotomy, namely the infective class either successfully spreads to infinity as t goes to infinity, or it spreads within a bounded area and vanish eventually, while the susceptive class stabilizes at a positive equilibrium state. Since this model is non-monotone, we only get a part of long time behavior of solution.
报告人简介：
陈玉明，教授，博士生导师。2000 年获得加拿大约克大学理学博士学位，2000 年 9 月至 2001 年 6 月在加拿大阿尔伯塔大学从事博士后研究。2001 年 7 月至今任教于加拿大罗瑞尔大学。主要研究兴趣为动力系统和泛函微分方程理论及其在生物数学和神经网络中的应用。已在包括SIAM Journal on Mathematical Analysis、Nonlinearity、Journal of Differential Equations、Physica D、Proceedings of the American Mathematical Society、Mathematical Biosciences、Neural Networks等国际著名刊物发表论文 100 余篇，研究成果被同行广泛引用，曾获安大略省科技与创新部早期研究者奖。主持4 项加拿大国家自然科学与工程理事会科研基金项目，参与3项中国国家自然科学基金面上项目。曾入选山西省“百人计划”。
王明新，哈尔滨工业大学特聘教授和二级教授，博士生导师，国务院政府特殊津贴获得者。曾任江苏省数学会副理事长，东南大学理学院副院长、数学系主任、应用数学硕士和博士点学科负责人、二级教授和特聘教授, 江苏省重点学科“应用数学”首席科学家。在Proc. London Math. Soc., Trans. Amer. Math. Soc., Indiana Univ. Math. J., J. Math. Pures Appl., J. Func. Analysis, SIAM J. Math. Anal., SIAM J. Appl. Math., J. Diff. Equat., J. London Math. Soc., Physica D, J. Dyn. Diff. Equat.等国内外核心期刊上发表论文 240 余篇，其中被 SCI检索240余篇。科学出版社出版和高等教育出版社专著6本，清华大学出版社出版教材4本，参与编写了科学出版社出版的“数学大辞典”。主持完成国家自然科学基金项目9项，在研1项；主持完成省部级项目9项。获得教育部科技进步三等奖2次，江苏省科技进步二等奖1次，高等学校科学研究优秀成果奖自然科学二等奖1次，江苏省首届青年科学家奖提名奖，河南省青年科技奖，江苏省优秀研究生指导教师，华英文化教育基金奖。
